Leonardo da Vinci's Harbour Cesenatico
In the summer of 1502, Leonardo da Vinci Architect Engineers et
General of the "Duca Valentino" Cesare Borgia, arrived in
Romagna in order to design new fortifications. On 6 September in Cesenatico place
that deserved special attention because of its port. In his notebook travel (the
famous Codice L ), Leonardo depicts Cesenatico
in two designs: a survey of harbor with annotations and measurements,
with a bird's eye view of a fishing village . Leonardo da Vinci's "transition"
, idealized and mythologized in part, marked the cultural imaginary the country,
and later became one of the fundamental themes of identity of Cesenatico.
